Practical safety skills for your community
Bring Kidpower to your library for engaging, age-appropriate programs where children, teens, and adults practice skills for personal safety, boundary-setting, getting help, and more.
Programs can be offered for specific age groups or as part of a larger family or community event.

Children and their adults practice age-appropriate skills for staying safe with people, including setting boundaries, moving away from problems, and getting help.
Adults participate so they can continue practicing the skills at home.

Ages 6-12 with their adults
Children and their adults practice skills for setting boundaries, dealing with unwanted behavior, getting help, and being persistent when they have a problem.Participants practice what they can say and do in situations involving peers, older youth, and adults.

Ages 6–12 with their adults
Children practice personal safety skills including boundary-setting, recognizing unsafe situations, and getting help, along with physical self-defense skills for emergencies.
Adults participate so they can help children continue practicing the skills.

Ages 13–17
Teens practice skills for setting boundaries, handling pressure and unwanted behavior, getting help effectively, and making safer choices in difficult situations.
The program also includes physical self-defense skills for emergencies.

For parents and other caring adults
Adults learn practical ways to teach and reinforce personal safety skills with children without using fear.
Participants practice strategies for coaching kids in boundary-setting, consent, getting help, handling peer problems. They also practice responding when a child comes to them with a safety concern.

Program fees typically range from $750–$1,500, depending on program length and format. Funding may be available to help make programs accessible to Vermont communities. If cost is a barrier, please ask about available funding and other options.
